Requirements to adopt a horse from Horse Lagoon Foundation!!
 
The objective of the Foundation is giving horses (saved from Malta), where unfortunately they live in confined spaces, the opportunity to live a good life, simply being a horse, so guaranteeing them the freedom of movement, living in a big field where a shelter/stable is available, where they can decide to stay indoors or outdoors.

Adopted horses should be in company of other horses and not being left alone.

The Foundation requests for the first two months, a short video showing the situation of the horse.

The Foundation has a right to visit the horse (always informing the owner of date and time of arrival).

Actual address of the stable should be communicated to the Foundation.

The Foundation must be notified of any change of ownership and new owners must qualify for the same conditions on adopting the horse.

Basic care for a horse should be:- 
deworming every 4 months, dental checks every year, horses must remain barefoot for various positive health reasons and trimming of hooves should be done at least once every 6 weeks.
Considering that horses from Malta have never grazed before, it is fundamental to gradually introduce the new diet to avoid any kind of risk and initially maintain a hay based diet.

Transportation from Malta to the overseas destination lies in the full responsibility of the new owner. The Foundation must be notified with the means of transport, by whom and by when. Preferably, if possible, horses must be accompanied by the new owner to assure their safety.
